Hands-on ICT Manager
As ICT Manager you are responsible for the realization and maintenance of the ICT infrastructure supporting Flanders Make to effectively realize its strategy.
Flanders Make has an ICT infrastructure that consists of 2 physical sites with test facilities and labs and about 100 administrative and research co-workers. Because the sites were historically separate organization there is an on-going transition project to evolve to a unified ICT infrastructure. In addition, Flanders Make ICT supports the project cooperation for more than 1000 users from associated university labs and industrial companies. The ICT manager is responsible, together with external ICT partners, to maintain and further improve this ICT infrastructure such that Flanders Make can effectively realize its strategy.
As ICT manager you will combine strategic thinking with hands-on ICT activities. More in particular, you will:
collect needs for ICT infrastructure improvements based on the strategy of Flanders Make and the user feedback.
decide on the architecture of the ICT infrastructure.
realize improvements to the ICT infrastructure (together with external ICT partners).
maintain ICT infrastructure and guarantee up-time (together with external ICT partners).
implement an ICT helpdesk for the users.
interface with the external ICT partners.
procure ICT material.
manage the ICT budget of Flanders Make.
You will directly report to the COO of Flanders Make.
The ideal candidate is an experienced ICT manager that combines management skills with technical experience and a strategic helicopter view with an hands-on mentality.
A relevant higher education degree.
At least 5 years of experience as ICT professional or manager;
A track record of successful project management and cooperation with outsourcing partners.
A broad technical ICT knowledge, including networking, access control (e.g. Active Directory, LDAP), security, client devices (Windows, Mac, Linux), cloud solutions (e.g. Office 365), collaboration tools (e.g. confluence, svn, Bugzilla, redmine), license servers (FlexLM, RLM), etc.

The assignment is in Belgium at Flanders Make, site Lommel or Leuven.

The mission of the centre is to strengthen the long-term international competitiveness of the Flemish manufacturing industry by performing industry-driven, pre-competitive, excellent research in the technological domains of mechatronics, product development methods and advanced manufacturing technologies.
This research will result in applications for machines, vehicles, vehicle components and high-tech production systems at the participating companies.
To achieve this mission, Flanders Make conducts industry-driven joint projects and contract research assignments in the following research programs: Clean Energy-efficient Motion Systems, Smart Monitoring Systems, Autonomous Systems, Intelligent Product Design Methods, Design & Manufacturing of Smart and Lightweight Structures, Additive Manufacturing for Serial Production, Manufacturing for High Precision Components, Agile & Human-centered Production & Robotics Systems.
