Market dynamics & competitive analysis
Consolidate external and internal reports and data to build a clear understanding of the commercial impact of the macro-economic environment, predict and assess future trends, and identify opportunities to increase volumes.
Analyze Market Shares and assess the implications of share trends. Analyze brand trends via volume, value and market share reports.
Assess ITGs brand performance by performing competitive analysis and support the business in prioritizing commercial opportunities using collaborative processes.
Performance tracking & activity and initiative evaluation
Gather market data to assess performance against share, sales, volumes, profits and advocacy objectives and review brand financial performance against KPIs.
Performance analysis and root cause analysis to identify potential improvements for the future.
Work in conjunction with Consumer & Trade insights and Sales and Marketing Operations to assess product launch and initiative effectiveness.
Understand the performance of activation tools and marketing instruments considering reach, cost and quality of activations.
Identify key learning points and share learnings with stakeholders.
Data integrity and information data availability
Ensure cluster and market stakeholders are self-sufficient in using business intelligence systems and tools.
Manage technical changes on data warehouses and implementation of new reporting tools in conjunction with Local and Group IS.
Support the Data Processing Executive and manage external data providers.
Support operational and strategic decision making.
Identify patterns and relationships in the strategic intelligence landscape and identify gaps for further investigation.
Ensure that insights are synthesized and communicated adequately and timely.
Guard and enhance fact based decision making and support the Market & Competitive Intelligence Manager.
Skills & experience
Masters’ or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or equivalent.
5 years’ of experience in a similar role, preferably with an analytical component in a consumer goods environment.
Great analytical skills and experience in quantitative analysis: market and competitive analysis.
Excellent communication skills and experienced in stakeholder management.
Taking ownership and ability to partner effectively.
Working experience in tobacco or FMCG is considered a plus.
Experience in working with large data sources and data retrieving software preferred.
Working experience at a quantitative research agency is a plus.

The MCI Analyst is responsible for developing actionable market and competitor insights at Cluster level to support strategic and operational decision making. This requires collecting a wide range of data and detailed analysis of data to generate reports and synthesise key insights. These insights will inform recommendations on portfolio and business strategy for the Cluster and the Benelux markets. The MCI Analyst is part of a Benelux-team of 4 analysts, based in Mechelen (BE) and Oosterhout (NL), and will engage in cross border activities, working on data and with systems of all Benelux entities.
