Job Description

Expert System Services Development Manager(100540) The company The Nemo Link® Interconnector project is led by Nemo Link, a joint venture between Elia and National Grid and will consist of subsea and underground cables connected to a converter station and an electricity substation in Belgium and the United Kingdom.

Your function The System Operations Manager will primarily be responsible for developing the different contractual, technical and commercial arrangements with the two TSO's to which Nemo Link will connect. This will include the development and implementation of arrangements to facilitate the transfer of Ancillary Services such as frequency response and black start across the interconnector.

In addition to the above, the System Operations Manager will also be involved in the development of the Nemo Link commercial systems (for capacity sales and dispatch). The main interfaces are: Nemo Link internal team (technical teams, operations and management team) 3rd parties (including Elia TSO, the Great Britain System Operator (GBSO), Nemo Link Limited ‘s (NLL) converter supplier Siemens and National Grid’s (NG) Non-Regulated-Business department)

Your profile:

  • You hold a university degree in an economic or electrical engineering discipline
  • You are fluent in English You have at least 3 years of relevant experience Proven experience of contract development is crucial
  • Experience and understanding of how interconnectors operate in both the BE and GB electricity markets, operational experience with a TSO is a plus
  • You can demonstrate experience in managing complex projects Knowledge of the associated processes and procedures with which we will need to comply
  • The ideal candidate would also ideally have some technical / operational knowledge and experience relating to HVDC interconnectors You are a strong communicator and team player
  • You are well organised, flexible and proactive
  • You are willing to commit to the development of the project till the end (begin 2019).
